Harbor Lasso
Make it stand out
It has been a busy week, but I didn’t want to wait too long before posting about the last time I went out for a paddle.
It has only been two days since the Hanohano Ocean Challenge. I didn’t want to get out of my rhythm, so I made sure I got back in the water on the planned Monday. There was a corridor my brother and I hadn’t hit yet, so we wanted to go down it before our big, full harbor trip our next time out.
The harbor and boats are becoming quite familiar. Like friends who have started to get to that comfortable phase that allows you to notice more subtle details that were missed during the initial introductions.
The new corridor was different than the one we traveled along a couple of weeks prior. The waterway closest to PCH has homes on either side, while this other corridor only has homes on one side; on the opposite side is a steep concrete wall where a road sits. The tide is quite low. Making the road that much higher.
We come out and cross over the main channel into the northeastern part of the harbor. Homes on this side are traded for townhomes or condos. Maybe large apartments.
On the next trip, we will travel all the waterways in one trip to complete everything before moving on to a new harbor. Probably Dana Point Harbor. since it is such a small harbor, we can finish it in one trip.
